Lights, camera, action ....

It was lights, camera, action at Ron Smith Care Centre and Rand Aid retirement villages Elphin Lodge and Inyoni Creek on June 18 and 19, after the complexes were chosen as locations for a South African film due to be released early next year. Pad na jou Hart stars screen legend Marius Weyers, Ivan Botha and Donnalee Roberts (7de Laan fame), Rina Nienaber (Heidi in Skwizas) and husband and wife duo Johan and Lida Botha (known for their roles in kykNET’s Oupa en Ouma Sit op die Stoep)

The Film Factory production explores humanity, love and the things that really make life worthwhile.

The Rand Aid facilities were chosen because of their warm, cared-for atmosphere and there was much excitement as the cameras, lights and props were unpacked and the friendly cast arrived.

Home Sweet Home...

"One may make their house a palace of sham, or they can make it a home, a refuge."
Mark Twain

What better way to make a place feel more homely than the smell of freshly baked bread and a pot of filter coffee?
Undoubtedly two of the greatest inventions!

 The new breadmachine in action...

Coffee anyone... no instant coffee for me anymore, says Peter Barker.

Peter Smith: "You can't get fresher than this."
Yummmmmm... Ivan Langford enjoying the steaming bread with butter melting away.

Is that your second slice, Maud Davidson?
Nothing like the first morning coffee to put a smile on your face, as illustreated by Beryl May and Brian Dyke.
